DIVORCE
At the Supreme Court yeotorda}*, Victore .Mr Justice Stringer, Mrs Agnes Maud Campbell was granted a decree nisi in divorce against William Getty Campbell on the oTound of desertion. She stated that the marriage took place in December, HM>s\ and that after two months she left her husband because he threatened to cut her throat and locked her out of the li.ni-c. She returned to! him a few days later, and stayed a fort-' niprht, but In- assaulted her. causing' bruises, and threatened her with further violence. She- left ajiain, and applied for a maintenance order against him. The police were unable to serve the summons on him, and she hail never since beard of him. The petitioner's mother stated Iliat she had been shown bruises by her daughter. His Honor granted the decree nisi, to be made absolute in three months, nnd f_'uve the petitioner custody of her child. Mr 11. I. Hicliiiioiicl appealed lor tii.' petitioner.
