It was decided, on the suggestion of the president, that the Hon. Mr. Myers should be Interviewed with the object of' overcoming the difficulty at present experienced in obtaining shipping space for goods from New Zealand to Japan. The Council resolved to seek the Minister's assistance in a further endeavour to make arrangements with the Australian Government, by which a definite amount of freight space should be reserved for New Zealand in steamers bound for Japan.
