TOWN HALL ORGAN RECITAL

Satuplny evening's municipal organ recital was numerously attended and the City Organist made full use of the eJ_—ns' magnificent instrument. The satisfy—g fullness mid majesty of the organ was realised during the admirable performance sustained of Uigur's march "Pomp and Circumstance." and the last movement ot Wldor'B seventh .Symphony. The fine-work, chorus reeds, and orchestral stops, such as diapasons, gedackts, flutes, gumbos, cornopean, horn, trumpet, clarinet, orchestral oboe, cor anglais, and tubus, respectively, till found a place for displaying their idenUtys whilst Rossinsl's "William Tell" overture was played. Ilorsman's "The Corfow" was delicately handled, the three or more combined colours being heightened without changing the prime colour, and a pleasing performance was given of Langstnn's "Minuet," the recital closing with a brilliant rendering of Lemmen's "Fanfare." Miss A. Turner, a yonng soprano of promise, a-equitted herself very creditably in Gonnod's "<) Divine Redeemer," and the ballad "Son of Mine." Mr Wbittftker acted as pianist.
