ROLL OF HONOUR.

SERGEANT V. G IRVIN. Pergt. V. C. Irvin, who was reported missing after the battle of Passchendaele, and now declared to have been killed in action on October 12, 1017, is the youngest son of Mrs. M. A- Irvin, of Rrchardson Road, Mount Albert. He was educated at Ponsonby Schools and Auckland Grammar School, and prior to the war was on tbe staff of Messra. Hall Ske.lton and Skelton, at their Paparoa branch. Serjrt. Trvtn was in the Rifle Brigade, and left with the 25th Reinforcements. Deceased was 25 years of age.

SERGEANT F. G. TUCKER. Cable advice has been received by Mrs. J. Tucker, of No. 3, Burleigh Street, that her son, Sergeant Frederick George Tucker, was admitted to hospital in England on Octoher 4. suffering from gunshot wound in the right thigh, also on the left hand, and a slight gunshot wound in the cheek. Serigeant Tucker was formerly in the University football team. He went ■with the forces to Samoa at the outbreak of the war. Later he went to Egypt with the Fifth Reinforcements, and had been transferred to the Thirty-third when he waa wounded. His father has now been three years on active service, and the eldest brother. Private Cyril Tucker, is serving with the troop 3in Palestine.

A. R. PURCELL. Lance-Corporal A. R. Purcell, reported killed in action, was the youngest son of Mr. P. F. Purcell, of Milford Street, Ponsonby. He was born in Auckland, and waa educated at the Marist Brothers' College. He left with the 15th Reinforcements, being attached to the Rifle Brigade. Prior to his enlistment he was on the staff of Messrs. Laidlaw Leeds, of this city. His elder brother, Private R, Purcell, left with the 4th" Reinforcement, and took part in the operations on Gaflipoli, where he was severely wounded, and invalided home to New Zealand.

PRIVATE W. A. M. DRAY. Amongst those who died for the Empire at the Somme on August 26 was Private W. A. M. Dray, only son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Dray, of Summer Street, Ponsonby. Deceased was born in Waverley, N.S.W., and came to Auckland in WOO with his parents. He was apprenticed to the plumlbing trade, and for some years worked for Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, at Cambridge. He left with the Thirty-third Reinforcements.
