LAWN TENNIS.
The famous French lawn tennis player, A. H. Gobert, wlio is serving with the French Air Service, has had a remarkable escape While acting as photographic officer .'i.OOflft. up, the machine was hit by a shell and crashed to earth, but the occupants escaped with slight injuries. Gobert, when barely out of his teens, created a so.nsation by twice beating the late A. V. Wilding in the Covered Courts Championships, while he alßo gave some brilliant displays at Wimbiedon.
