CLAWS BEING WELL CLIPPED, j LONDON, October 11. Since August S the British Army has defeated 80 German divisions. The German infantry divisions on the western front have now been reduced to 183, and in addition there are eight Austrian divisions. All danger to the Murman coast lias now been removed, while tbe Poles are showing open opposition to the Central Powers, and constitute a great menace to the reduced German garrisons. Peasant risings are also threatening the Germans in the Ukraine, and the German hold on the Black vSea is endangered.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) HOUSE OF CARDS COLLAPSING. LONDON, October 11. Jf. Kerensky, in an article in the "Pall Mall Gazette," says the defeat of Turkey and the surrender of Bulgaria mean the death-warrant, to Germany's hop<?s -"of domination in Russia. The Bolshevik stronghold in the centre of Russia will instantly collapse wlien Gerroan3"'s support is withdrawn. Germany must be compelled, after the war. to disgorge the Russian indemnity of £400,000,000. — (United Service.) THEIR OWN PRESCRIPTION. LONDON", October 11. The "Western Morning News" states that the British are using a most devastating form of mustard gas, which penetrates the enemy's clotlies and masks, which are of inferior quality owing to the nibber. This partly accounts for our rapid progress. We are now giving the Germans, in an intensified form, the medicine they exploited.— (A. and N.Z.) DUTCH TAKE PRECAUTIONS. THE HAGUE, October 11.
