The benefit arranged in aid of the onetime champion representative footballer, "Dick" McGregor, took place on tha Domain on Saturday afternoon, when the weather was fine, and there was a large attendance. So many ticket books have yet to come in that the exact amount realised will not be ascertainable for a few days, but it should reach a fairly substantial sum. The star attraction of the afternoon was provided by a team chosen from the combined colleges and an Auckland representative fifteen of players under 20. This was a fast and exciting exhibition, the schoolboys eventually proving the winners by 23 points to IL The whole of the College team justified their inclnslon. and tbey gave a fine display, their pace running their opponents off their legs. The Auckland representatives also opened up the game, and there was not a dull moment throughout the eighty minutes' play. For the College boys, O'Shea scored two tries, and Dyer, Badeley and Kronfeld one each, Grierson converting one, while MeCnllagk kicked two goals. For Auckland, Prentice and Munro notched tries. The final of the Falcon Cnp championship was played at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon between Wild Uose and Nona 1 Bhore, and attracted a large number ot spectators. In the opening stages of the game Wild Rose were undoubtedly bavins the better of the game, but Shore rallied and scored iv tbe first half. A succession of mishaps to tbe Wild Rose players de- . layed the game, and the latter played one man short. In the second half Wild Rose again took tbe offensive, and were on the point of scoring ou numerous occasions.
