GALLIPOLI MEN.
(To flip Editor.) Sir, —In la*t evening's "Star" "One of the Old Push" made the statement tl'at "no Seventh man landed on CJallipoli." In that statement he is entirely wrons;. The membem of the Field Ambulance of the Seventh Reinforcements left Zeitoun camp for the Peninsula on December 4, and remained there until the evacuation. I am, etc., ONE OF THE SEVENTHS. , "One of the Sevenths who Landed" writes to the same effect. .To U>» Editor.) S"ir,—A cutting has been sent to us regarding a misstatement appearing in your paper re the death of Corp. H. J. Tuck. You evidently copied the statement from the "Te Aroha Newe," and it was a mistake. He left New Zealand with the Second Reinforcements as a private in the Infantry, joined the Engineers in Egypt, and landed on Gallipoli on April 25, was invalided to Malta on September 9, 1915, went back to Egypt some time in February, 1916, and sailed | ■with the New Zealandere for France i later. We hope this explanation will, satisfy "Returned Soldier' and others.— I am, etc., C. J. TUCK. Te Aroha.
