POLICE COURT.
( Before Messrs. J. P. McPhail, C. H. Furness and T. Gubb, J.l'.'s.) DRUNKENNESS. Hannah Campbell (48), whoso antics in Queen Street yesterday afternoon, when she was under the influence of liquor, had diverted a large crowd, was fined 10/- for being disorderly while : drunk. Three first offenders forfeited bail, one was fined 5/-, and one was con- I victed and discharged. Moana Hill (28) and Te Awarutu (29), who were caught fighting in Customs Street yesterday when they were under the influence of liquor, were fined each 10/-, in default 48 hours. George Martin (23), for committing a nuisance ami using obscene language when he was drunk in Scotland .Street, was fined 40/-. APPROPRIATED THE LIGHTS. Hgalmar F. O. Laraen (36) admitted that on Saturday night he stole two hurricane lamps belonging to the. Northern Steamship Company. He was employed on a scow, and on Saturday night" he took the lamps from the gangways of two small steamers and put them on th<i scow. He was under the influence of liquor at the. time. He had not been before the Court before. Accused, who said he would not have taken the lamps if he hail been sober, was convicted and fined £5, in default seven days' imprisonment. MISCELLANEOUS. Wm. Oe.o. Plowman (l(i), on a charge of theft of a postal packet at Takapunaj was remanded on bail till Monday.
