COASTAL TRADE. COMPLAINTS OF MERCHANTS. Considerable dissatisfaction exists among merchants in Auckland at present at the fact that goods ex the Kurow, from San Francisco, have been held up in Wellington for some weeks because the Mapourika, which wae need in the cargo service between AuckJand and Wellington, has been taken off the run and haa not been replaced. The Mapourika wae taken off some time in August to relieve a boat on the West Coast and, the merchant*) state, an assurance was given that she would be put back on the Auckland run as soon as possible. So far, it is stated, this has not been done, and goods have now been lying in Wellington for three we.eks awaiting transhipment to Auckland. Some of these goods are urgently required, and considerable annoyance is felt that some effort haa not been made to either replace the boat or to put her back on the Auckland-Wellington run.
