EMBARRASSING WHEAT SURPLUS. MELBOURNE, August 29. The Acting-Federal Premier (Mr W. A. Watt)" conferred to-day with the Whrat Board, and urged the necessity of disposing of the surplus wheat, even at a lower price than the farmers considered reasonable. The present overj draft on wheat amounted to £14,000,000. Attempts to soil the two years' surplus had proved unsuccessful.— (A. and X.Z.) THE I.W.W. INQUIRY. SYDNEY, August 29. The I.W.VV. Commission resumed its sittings to-day. It was mainly occupied with the cross-examination of Goldstein and his connection with the I.W.W. ease. (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
