YOUNG MAN DROWNED.

•— (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, this day. A telephone message received by the Whangarei police from Mr. J. Dysart, of •N-kutawhiti, states that Reg. Halliday was drowned yesterday afternoon in Mangakahia River at a place where the old Mangakahia bridge was washed' away. Halliday was working for Messrs. ' Patullo Bros., shifting logs. Constable j Paine left this morning to endeavour to recover the body and hold an inquest.
