EEGrLATIONS GAZETTED. ' <By Telegrapn.— (Press Association.) , » WELLINGTON, this day. Special regulations are being gazetted bringing within the scope of national service a clause of the Finance Act of !ISI7 concerning enemy aliens and all ] other persons of enemy alien descent. Efce regulations authorise the appointment of the Alien Commissioner, who is already acting in the case of Jugoslavs. Every enemy alien who fails to report bimself to the Commissioner, and fails or refuses to accept such national service as he may direct, commits an bffence against the war regulations. Provision is made for the employment J>f aliens on the co-operative system of jpublic works. It is also provided that every person engaged in the national service shall be paid at a rate approved by the Commissioner, not exceeding the rate for the time being current in the locality for srmilnr work.
