The English have just invented a high- I speed steel which is so strong that ' engines and guns and tools made of it ' can be worked more rapidly than those made of any of the other steels. The "Popular Science Monthly" says that tools of this steel can be cast into shape, and casting is the quickest known way of making any tool. There arc few steels, however, -which by casting them do not become brittle- "Cobalterora steel," as it is called, nevertheless can , 'be made in this manner instead of hay- i ing to be forged and rolled, two very much lengthier and more expensive, processes. i
