DESERT GOLD FOR AUSTRALIA, FOR PATRIOTIC PURPOSES. ANOTHER MISSION. (Special to "Star.") J NAPIER, Saturday. Mr. T. H. Lowry has definitely decided to , send .a team ta Australia in the spring, and the star performer, of course, will he the champion Desert Cold. Mr. I.owry has again decided to give the net cash winnings of his great- mare to the various patriotic funds. The disposal of such Trill be left entirely in the hands of. Mrs. Lowry. and will be used by her as she thinks fit. either in New Zealand or at the front. In statins net cash winnings Mr. Lowry is guided ' by the fact that certain stakes are given partly in war bonds, and It is a difficult matter to arrange these so as to gain immediate benefit for the purpose. The offer is in keeping with the great efforts Mr. and Mrs. Lowry are making on behalf of those who are unfortunately suffering from the war.
