After an interval of a fortnight, the Auckland Hoc-key Association's competitions were resumed at liemuera on Saturday under unfavourable conditions. liie grounds were all very soft, though no water lay upon them, as in former seasons, and.play was not of the scientific. The mud seemed. to suit some of the teams, for there were nigh scores in all grades. The two senior events proved a surprise, for the resnlt was a win for each of the two lower-placed teams, putting all four on a level. Kdendale Inflicted defeat on Areta toy four goals to one, Wheeler, Sparkes, Montelth, and. Grayson scoring for the 'winners, and. Nicholson for the losers. University were successful against Mount Eden by th* odd goal out of seven. Clayton scored twice for the students, and €arr and Waddingham one each. A. Alexander {2) and Jansett got goals for Mount Eden.
