PERSONAL.
The, Rev. J. Dawson, of the New Zealand Alliance, left for the south by last night's express. ■Mr. J. G. Beswick, postmaster at Lyttelton, has been transferred to Tauranga. The appointment of Mr. - Charles J. Nathan as Vice-Consul for Sweden at Auckland has been recognised by the Governor-General. Mr. K. W. Dalton, British Trade Commissioner to New Zealand,' arrived 'by the express this morning-, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Flight-Commander J. Seabrook, eon of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seabrook, of New Lynn,, has, according to a cable just received, been posted on active service to Egypt. After long service on the western front in France, he was latterly placed in command of a squadron in England. Among Christohurch citizens called up in the Second Division ballot were Mr. T. P. Gilfedder, Registrar of Pensions; Mr. P. L. Hallenatein, general manager of the D.1.C.; and Mr. H. Hunter, secretary of the New Zealand Federation of Labour.
