Miss Winona Martin is the first Amecan woman of the Y.W.C.A. staff to perish in the war. She was a woman of fine education and rare literary ability. During the voyage to France on a crowded liner she caught scarlatina, and, on arrival was taken to a hospital in Paris, where, with five other., she was killed in an air raid.
