FOOTBALL.
ASSOCIATION. The notice of motion by the Wellington Association, at the annual meeting of the N.Z. Association, that Brown Shield matches 'be resumed, after considerable discussion, was carried by 15 votes .to 2.
Brotherhood Club supporters and old players and others of A.F.A. circles will be pleased to learn that an old enthusiast and vice-president and A.F.A. committeeman, in the person of Corporal A. D. Blanks, has arrived in Auckland from active service. A Main Body volunteer, he has seen service in Egypt, Gallipoli, • and France, it being just on four years since he left New Zealand. He comes back to recuperate, having been wounded and slightly gassed in France early this" year. The" Brotherhood Club's record for the war ia as follows: Fortyfive club players on active service. Of these 7 have been killed, 22 wounded, 4 have returned to the Dominion, one has re-enlisted and is back again in France, one is on the high seas, and is due back at an early date.
