ENEMY MINEFIELD.
OFF NORTH CAPE. TEN MILES OFF SHORE, (%y Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The naval adviser, Captain P. H. Hall Thompson, announces that New Zealand mine-sweeping trawlers have located an enemy minefield north of New Zealand between Cape Maria van Diemen and North Cape, about 10 miles from shoreTwo mines have been recovered and destroyed. The operations of the minesweepers are continuing. The public are again warned that the mines are liable to break away and be washed on shore. Should any person find a mine he should report the fact at once \to the nearest naval, military, police, or ! Customs authority, and is advised not to tamper with it in any way beyond endeavouring to make sure that it does not again float to sea. The mines just located are somewhat oval in shape, with five horns, two lifting bolts at the top end, ' and mooring arrangements at the base, I with a height of about 4ft 6in and ft diameter of about 3ft.
