MEETING 01-" COMMITTEE. A committee meeting of the Auckland Rugby League was held at 22. Shortland street, ou Wednesday. May- I, at 7.30 p.m. Present: Messrs. Carlaw (chairman), T. Sullivan. G. Whitley, A. Ball. H. Tyer, E. Frost. W. Ross. R. Pollock. C. _dcDevltt. R. Splnlcy. and N. Culpan.

Parnell Club requested permission to affiliate with Newton. Owing to nominations being closed, thus beharrtng Parne)l from entering teams, the North.'ote Club offered to forego their nominations in the 4th an.l 6th grade, so as to allow the Parnell Club to participate in the competitions. Affiliation was then granted to the Parnell Club, and the offer of Northcote for the transference of nominations was referred to the .lunlor Advisory Board.

The Junior Advisory Board wrote requesting a list of the nominations of junior teams and cpwunds available, so as to enable the draw to take place, and suggested that the junior competitions be postpoued. Tbe letter was received, and left in the bands' of the secretary.

The .lunlor Advisory Board asked for a ruling as to whether or not re-grading effected last year "because of special circumstances be allowed to hold good this year. It was decided that last year's re-gradings were all considered on their merits, and that all re-gradings stand, the right to cnll a player to a higher grade to be left with the Club.

The Referees' Association intimated, that a shortage of referees existed, and requested the League's, assistance in obtaining extra members. The secretary was instructed to circularise the clubs for the names of retiring players.

The Canterbury League wrote forwarding its annual report for the season 1017. The question of matches with them was mooted, and the secretary was instructed to write making Inquiries.

Jlanqere Club requested permission to nt-p blue jerseys instead of maroon and gold for this season. The request was granted.

It was decided that nil Juniors who had failed to register their weights must do so on .Saturday next. May 4. at Victoria Park, between 1 nnd 2 p.m.

The secretary reported that he had received two letters requesting the League to discuss certain business, but us the letters were anonymous he hud consigned them to the waste paper basket. His action was approved of.
