A man named Frederick Houghton was ' brought to the hospital last night frith •eevere injuries caused by an explosion of "gelatine in the Golden Belt mine, at iNeveswlle. He was working with a pick when he encountered a fragment of gelatine, which exploded, seriously injuring one eye and turning his face and arms. 'It is feared the sight of the , injured eye will be lost.
