Hope, a junior Lord of the Treasury, stated that the Government was determined to ensure redress for British prisoners improperly treated in Germany. He also stated it had been thought desirable to transfer a number of German officers from the West of England to the east coast. This was not a reprisal or a punishment. Tlie climate of Kent and the Essex coast would probably be better suited to a number of those in the prison camp 6. — (Reuter.) DEATH OF MORAHT. .'AMSTERDAM, March 24. Major Moraht, the German military critic, is dead. —(A. and N.Z. Cable.) Major Moraht, who was the most noted military critic in Germany, wrote for the "Berliner Tageblatt." Owing to outspoken criticism his writings were some time ago suspended, but-latterly he has again been contributing to the paper. • AMERICAN WHEAT. '. WASHINGTON, March 24.
