TROOPS AT PERONNE HOLDING POSITIONS.

Sir Douglas Haig reports:«-There was no material change on the battleiront during the night, though further fighting occurred at a number of points. ."• are holding a line from the Somme River to Peronne. Northward of ™* Somme River our troops at Peronne hold their positions after beating off a lumber of attacks at different portions of this front in the early part of tte night. Heavy fighting must still be expected. Sir Douglas Haig's report on aviation work says:—We brought down 27 '"i drove down 20 enemy machines. Eight of ours are missing.
