The two photographs on the left were taken at the rear of Parker Lemb's timber mills, and show a confused. jumbl. of logs and sailing vessels driven ashore by the force of the gale. The upper right-hand picture shows a small portion of the Ponsonby waterfront, and gives some idea of the havoc which took place amongst the launches and pleasure craft. In the lower right-hand corner is a scene at the baths at Point Erin Park, showing the seaward wall completely swept away by the waves.
