FRUIT AND PRODUCE. . The former are still •fairly green, but met a' good . demand. Bananas arrived in bad condition, being too ripe, and large quantities rotten. . Potatoes are short in supply and firm at quotation. Teh onion market at present If well supplied from the South. The quality is good. Fresh eggs are firm at advanced prices. Farmers* butter is short in supply, with o good demand. Poultry.—Every pen was foil, and a good demand existed for best-conditioned birds. Potatoes, local, prime, "£S 10/ ton; onions, local, _S 10/ ton. Butter, farmers', in prints, 1/4 lb; eggs, fresh. 2/5 dozen. Fruit.—Apples, local, coloured, extra superior, dessert, 7/ case, good 4/6 to 6/. cooking 2/6 to 4/; pears, Bon Chretien, choice; up to 8/6 case, good 4/6 to 5/, cooking 4/6 to 5/; peaches, coloured, 5/ case: grapes, hothouse, lOd to 1/4 lb, according to size of berries, outdoor, best, 4/6 to 5/6 box; tomatoes, outdoor, best, 4/ to 5/ box' lemons, local, prime, up to 16/ case, local rou;h and coarse, 7/ to S/.
