BRITISH SHIPBUILDING.
OUTFIT LAGGING BEHIND. SOLEMN WARNING TO WORKERS. LONDON, February 27. An appeal has been made by Mr. G. N. Barnes, a member of the War Cabinet, to workers in the shipyards to put their backs into the work. He states that last month less than half the estimated number of ships were turned out, and this month the position had not improved. "THe matter )£ very serious," Mr. Barnes said, "because in regard to shipbuilding America is failing us. We must construct a much larger number of ships if we are to get through the next few months." — (Reuter.)
