SWIMMING.
CHAMPIONSHIP CARNIVAL. ON CHRISTMAS DAY. The Ponsonby and Normal Swimming dabs are holding a championship carnival at the Shelly Beach Baths on Christmas afternoon, when the 100 yds men's provincial championship will be decided. In addition a large number of handicap events are on the -programme, and with Misa D. B_rqu_ar, the New Zealand lady champion, and Messrs Welson, Paterson, and Yon Stunner competing t_» carnival should provide some fine swimming. Nominations close at the Tepid Baths, Shelly Beach Baths, and with the joint secretaries on Monday next, the 17th inst. '
