MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
« The lit. Eden Borough Council met last evening, Cr. C. Ondson (Deputy-Mayor) in the chair. The recommendation of Potter's Part Committee that the Engineer report on the proposed levelling: wort of the park eastwards from Dominion Road for about half the ground length, and submit plans, was approved. It was decided to refuse permission to Mr .T. Clowes at Dominion Road Terminus to open a billiard saloon in the rear of his hairdressing saloon. It was decided to reply to a communication from the District Health Officer that the Council -was willlus to co-operate with the Mt. Albert Conncil in a scheme to abate the nufeance of surface drainage iKirderinj; on the two districts. Cr. Shacfeeiford said the matter had been "dillydallyed" with for some time, and something: should be (lone. Cr. Potter mentioned that the Drainajre Committee bad a scheme for dealing with sewage and storm water under consideration. After some discussion Councillor Shackelford moTed. and it wae carried. "That the. Government be asked to appoint a commission to allocate the liability of the contributing bodies.
