SCHOOL COMMITTEES' ASSOCIATION.

Between 50 and 60 delegates from school committees attended a meeting at the New- ?.? East scn ° ol on Saturday night to consWer the rules, and to elect the first officers or the Auckland Primary School Committees' Association. Thirty school committees were represented by their own members, besides many country committees by proxy. Included in the country representatives present were members of the following committees:—Otorohanga, Wnikino, Maungakaramea, Rotokauri, Papakura, Manurewa, Otahuhu, Oratia, Paeroa, Flat Bush, Henderson, besides which most of the committees in the city and suburbs were represented. Mr. J. P. McPhail presided and welcomed the delegates from the country, and also explained the objects of the Association. The rules as submitted by the committee were adopted with a few minor alterations. The election of officers resulted as follows: President. Mr. ,T. P. McPhail (Northeote); vice-president, Mr. C. H. Furness (Remuera); secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Jen-Hi (Newton); Management Committtee, Messrs. J. Xlempsey (Remuera),' W. E. Roberts (New Lynn), A, J. Morrish (Avondale), M. A. Thompson (Ponsonby). R. H. A. Potter (Mount Eden), R. G. Speight (Onehunga). About forty school committees have joined the Associatiou, and lt is expected that before the end of the month at least twenty more will join.
