STRATFORD RAILWAY.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. In reply to the Taumarunui-Ohura deputation which waited on the Hon. Mr. Fraser, Minister of Public Works, with reference to prosecution of the Okahu-kura-Stratford railway at the eastern end, the Minister said he would endeavour to procure labour, if necessary, by transferring it from works nearing completion, and would do hie best to get the section to Tuhua completed to a point where the wooden train was connected with 'Matiere. He saw no reason why friendly aliens should not Ibe employed. The line would be profitable, and should bo comphriifl. Taringamutu bridge and Mirihuia and Waikaka Roads would also get favourable consideration. The deputation is very well satisfied with the Minister's reception.
