POLICE COURT.

(Before Mr. P. V. Frazer, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Patrick Collins (20) and James Wright (30), who were disorderly while drunk, and created a fuss by snouting and wrestling in Customs Street early yesterday evening, were fined 5/- and I/O costs apiece. LIKE A BTJLLT. A sailor named William Scott (42) admitted that on Friday he assaulted the quartermaster on his ship. It was stated that when Scott went on the ship under the inlluence of liquor he attacked the quartermaster while tlie latter was lying on his bunk, and knocked the man al>oiit. Again yesterday he threatened the man, and a friend of his, and it was considered he was a menace to tlie peace of the ship. His Worship remarked that the accused wasn't wanted here, and added that he. was satisfied that if the man made; himself a pest his shipmates would no doubt be equal to the occasion. Scott was lined £2, half the line to go to the man assaulted, in default seven days, with a. proviso that he should be put aboard to sail with the ship. IMPUDENT THEFTS. "Harry Ttugen (38) admitted that on Tuesday he stole four overcoats, the property of Xesbitt, Hugh C'orbett and A. ■I. King. As the man was apparently suffering from the effects of drink he was remanded till Monday for sentence. He had paid two visits on the same day to a big boardinghouse in Waterloo Quadrant, and had walked off with the overcoats. When he was trailed by Detective Mcllvcney three of the coats were found in pawn, but one was yet missing.
