MELBOURNE, July 27. In announcing the Government's shipbuilding policy, the Prime Minister said all preliminary steps had been taken to launch the enterprise immediately. He advised the States to clear their slips in anticipation of the unions accepting the Government's proposals. Mr Hughes said standardised ships would be constructed by the State and by private firms under Federal control.—(A. and'N.Z. Cable.);
