POST OFFICE DELIVERIES.
To meet the pressure iipon its stall' caused l.v war's demands, the Postal Department has been compelled t,. make a regulation under Order in Council, requiring any person whose residence lies back from the street to provide a box on the street line for the receipt of mr.il matter. Failing compliance with this regulation power is given wherein such person may be excluded from the benefits of the letter carrier's delivery Other householders, whose residences arc near the street line, are to be requested to provide letter boxes ,„- poking slob in their from locrs. In cases where this is not done, any want of promptitude in attending t.i the letter-carrier's signal will probably result in d.-lav to the correspondence. Residents may' ohtain from the Department covering plates for door apertures, but not boxes for erection on the street line.
