MTCETINXJ OF ItOAD BOARD. The ordinary meeting of the One Tree ITIII Road Board was held last evening. J here were present: Messrs. It. B. Macduff (chairman). V. V. Murk. C. L. Slvtield, J. Dykes, T. 'Jiowc, H. Dohblc, and C. Urosvenor. Slot Telephone.-—A letter was received from the Telegraph Engineer stating th;,t It was proposed to erect a coln-ln-thcslor telephone in Manukan Road at. the Cornwall J. a « entrance. II was resolved to Inform the Department that the Hoard protests against the proposed site, as on one side of fhe mad at (his site there arc no vesi. den.t-s for over a mile, and there arc no converging roads to the site. Cvlnmire Works.—A deputation of rotepayer* waited on the Hoard and presented a petition, containing 300 signatures protesting agntnst the proposed manure 'works at Penrose. Tt was pointed out that the Hoard had already refused to grant a ncrTO* for tho proposed works, lint that if a further application were received full consideration would be given to the protests from the ratepayers Tramway Service.—Tie City Council wrote stating that n special meeting of the Public Services Committee would be held on Jul? 4 to discuss matters relating to the tramway service, and inviting three deleC eß J^l thC <??* Treo "'»'"oad Board. •Fhe chairman.
