j At the Chamber of Commerce at -2..")0 ,'p.m. the Auckland Railways League held a conference, with the members of Parliament, representing the Auckland provincial district. There were present de- : legates from Tauranga, Ohura, and j North Auckland. Mr. P. E. Cheat, chairman of the League, presided, and read I apologies from the Mayor (Mr. Gunson) j and the Deputy-Mayor (Mr. Entrica.nl, I-Messrs. J. S. Dickson, M.P., T. W. Rhodes, M.P., V. Reed. M.P., and A. Harris. M.P. The chairman outlined tho aims of the League, to secure the completion of the important sections of railways in the Northern districts. The ! delegates were enfraged discussing the matter in hand at 3 p.m.
