Buyers of bank shares dropped out to-day, but insurance lines were all in request at late rates. Inquire was made tor Standard Insurance- at 28/9, hut no selling price was quoted. National Mortgage shares were wanted at 73/. Taupiri loa] shares sold at 16/0. and were still wanted at threepence under that rifnirc. Westport. Stockton Coal .were asked for to-day at 7,9, Huddart-Parker S.s. Co. sold at 32/(3. and 50/U was offered for Union S.S. shares, rights accepted.

MINK MANAGERS' REPORTS. Waihi Grand Junction.- The following cable has been sent to London: — No. 8 level, south-east crosscut, next 18 inches value e.i o 0: next 4ft. country rock. In the crosscut at 140 ft west of "the southeast .-rosscut. from 03ft to lOOft. there Is quartz, of an average value of 10/9, and from 10-,;fi to 110 ft Is country rock. The Empire foot wall lodge < lOOftl." In the drive west gave assays from 14,". to lfloft averaging £1 -l s for a width of 43 Inches. The lode has been .broken out from the southeast crosscut to the (Hut west crosscut. The average of the assays from the southeast crosscut to „>ft west is £1 16/i> over an average width of llViln. Tlie lode contains l.oulders of country rock. In the drive ea-t assays from 14S to laift averaged fl s.-n for a width of 03ln. and from 165 ft to lxoft, 1.14. At No. 7 level the Empire lode. No. 14 rise, assayed 15 t> for a width of 40in. In No. Sa winze assays from loft to 24ft down averaged £2 10/ for a width of „>in. At No. fl level the Itoval lode assayed 135 ft west to 192 ft west of No. 7a rise £3 3•_ for a width of 48in. The crosscut ar lSOfl west was driven 20ft. total 20ft, and gave the foDowlug values ;-. First 12ft from south wall. £2 6/: next flft 5/. At No. .". level the Royal lode on the hang-ingw.-Ul branch gave assays from 15ft east to —ft west of the 80/t west crosscut of £1 17.T1 for SSin.

WATHI RETURN". £27,48S FOR THE MON"-fl". The return from the Waihi mine for the month ended June 2nd was £27,488, the result of the treatment of 16,007 tons of ore. This brings the total output from the Waihi mine to date up to £11,578,031, out of which £4.1)20.341 !)/8 has been paid to shareholders in dividends.

KI'RAXUI. A few pieces of stone from the Kuranui mine are on view at the office of the secretary. Mr. W. .1. Xicho], Victoria Arcade. This atone is from a 4in leader in the Ross level, where driving is being done to cut a :!ft reef met with by tributers in an adjacent mine. The stone on view is of good class, well mineralised, and shows colours of pold. In his report the manager states that the quartz met witb is in excellent mineralised country, and some pieces broken from a leader showed strong dabs and blotches of gold. This quartz was got towards the floor of the drive. If the present country last until the Ross reef is cut, the manager 6tates tliat good results should follow.
