TIGER KLOOF MISSION.
WORK OF THE L.M.S. Missionary Day was celebrated on "Wednesday by two gatherings at Beresford .Street Congregational Church. A meeting for ladies was held at 3 p.m., then followed tea, after which a public meeting was held, at which there was a pood attendance. Mr. A. J. Kntrican (Deputy-Mayor) presided. The Rev. W. C. Willoughby. the L.M-. Deputation to Australasia, gave a most interesting account of the work accomplished in South Africa, aud dealt more fully with what had been accomplished at Tiger Kloof. This property of the L.M.S. is now valued at £70,000. The native .boys were trained in various callings, and also received an education in English. Bright lads were given clerical instruction to enable them to transact the financial business of chiefs and wealthy natives. Girls were trained in domestic duties with satisfactory results. The}' paid for instruction according to their means, and during last year £2.000 was collected in fees. Some 200 pupils attended the Institute.
