V.M.C.A. IN THE FIELD.
A lecture on "The V.M.C.A. and tho War" was given at the Baptist Tabernacle Hall last night by Mr. H. M. Stneeton, one of the V.M.C.A. commissioners who recently visited the military camps in England and the bases in Trance. , After describing the measures that were taken by the Association to supply the men in camp in England with recreation and amusement, Mr. Smeeton related his experiences of V.M.C.A. trench work. In one -week, he stated, over 26.000 cups of hot cocoa, with biscuits, were distributed free of charge. Other j .M.C.A. activities were described by the lecturer, including the work at base' hospitals and among the men of the Navy. A collection was made, and the proceeds will be devoted to the V.M.C.A. Trench Comforts Fund. The lecturer was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
