The French reply to the Russian pro ! clamation of April's lias been published ' It sars that France, replying to thr sentiments of her old anil loyal ally, . rejoices to be in full community" of ideas with the Russian (Jovernment and people on the subject of the war. France does not dream of opr/'esinff any people, but is resolved that the oppression co lonfj weighing on the world shall be destroyed and tiie authors of the crime punished. France, forced to tight in defence of her liberty, means to secure the release and return of the provinces of Alsace and Torraine, and will fight \vtli her allies till their territorial right of independence is restored, full indemnities for inhuman ravages paid, and indispensable guarantees against a recurrence of past horrors obtained.— i Reuter )
