LANCE-CORP. JOHN BROWN. Mr. D. C Brown, headmaster of the St. Helier'e School, has teen advised that Ms son, Lanco-Corporal A. J. Brown, was dangerously ill on May 29, Buffering from gunehot wounds. Later cables state that his wound wae in the arm, and that he was doing welL LIEUTENANT L. WADE. Advices have been received by Mrs. li. Wade, of Grafton Road, that her husband, Lieut. L. Wade, who was wounded in Gallipoli, and was in hospital in Auckland for a year, has been transferred for duty to the British Ministry for Munitions. Lieut. Wade went to England after his convalescence. PRIVATE GEORGE JUPP. Information from the Base Records Department hae been received that Private George Jupp, of Birkenhead, was admitted to the FiTst South General Hospital on May 16, having sustained a severe gunshot wound in the back. Private Jupp, who is a son of Sergeant Geo. Jupp (now in Egypt) was serving with the Australian Force in France. PRIVATE B. FAIRS. A memorial eervice was held yesterday morning at the Birkenhead Presbyterian Church in connection with the death of Private Bert Fairs, of Birkdale, on active service* Deceased having belonged to the Boy Scouts, the troops of the Birkenhead, Birkdale, and Northcote Scotrte, together with the Ponsonby Trumpet Band (under Trumpet-Major Beal) and District Commander Stebbing, paraded, and officially attended the service, which was of an impressive character, and was conducted by the Rev. G. Cox.
