ARTILLERY ACTIVITY ON THE FRENCH FRONT.

TARTS, June 10. A communique states: Our batteries were very active last night in the region north of St. Quentin. The Germans renewed their attempts at various points in the fhemin dcs Dames area from south of Filain te past of Cerny, where the artillery duel was continued violently. Our fire dispersed four successive attacks north-east of Cerny. Two surprise attacks north of Kroidmont Farm, on the Ycrdun front, were broken by our artillery. The enemy suffered heavy losses. The latest communique reports an artillery duel south-east of St. Quentin and north-west of Braye-en-LaonnoU.
