AN AUTOMATIC SYSTEM. {Received 8.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, June 8. A forecast of the Conscription Bill indicates that the system will not be one of registration, but of automatic inclusion of every man of military age. Exemption boards will be provided at which it will be necessary for the applicant to prove that he should not be conscriptedMr R. L. MAJORITY OF THIRTY-FIVE. (Received 12.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, dune S. .Sir R. L. Borden is attempting to form a Unionist Government, taking in Liberal conseriptionists. A majority of 35 for the Conscription Bill is assured. A. Toronto telegram as.scrts that Sir Wilfrid Laurier has resigned from the leadership of the Liberal party, and that Sir R. L. Borden has offered the Liberal Whip (Mir Pardee) an office in the War Cabinet.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) THE COALITION FAILURE. OTTAWA, June 8. Deep disappointment is expressed at the failure of the coalition negotiationsThe Government proposes the immediate introduction of a conscription bill.
