Candles last double the usual tftne. it is said, if given a good coating of white varnish and allowed to dry before use. Tbe varnish prevents the grease runnins" down the sides. After the dustbin has been emptied try burning a couple of newspapers, and, if possible, a 'handful of straw in it. j
