JEWISH AUTONOMY.
A PROTECTORATE PREDICTED. LONDON*. May 21. Presiding at the English Zionist Conference, Dr. Wcizman said that although it was premature to talk of the estati-lis-hment of an Independent Jewish State, he was officially informed that the Allied Governments favoured granting the Jews self-government in Palestine under the protection of the great Powers. The highest ecclesiastical authorities did not object. He thought the question of the control of holy places was capab\ of settlement.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
