ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
MAN CUTS HIS THROAT. A platelayer named Richard Cook, 40 years of age. residing with his parents in Alfred Street. Onehunga, attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. He went to bed at about 9 pjn. last night, and at about 5 a-m. this morning his sister, who sleeps in the next room, heard him knocking on the wall. She immediately -went into the room, and found him in a semi-conscious cpndition. with his throat cut. Dr. Tresidder was summoned, and attended to him, and the police later removed him to the Auckland Hospital. It is believed that he has been troubled over the death of a brother in tiling Camp, England. An operation was performed at the hospital this morning, hut his condition is much about the name as when admitted.
