THE RUNNER'S MESSAGE.
LONDON, May 12. I Mr. Pirrie Robinson, the "Times" correspondent at British Headquarters, reilating deeds of courage by Englisli north country troops, writes:—"A private | arrived covered with dirt, bearing -a l message from a strange unit. When he I was questioned the truth cime out. He was at a certain point when a runner ( I came dodging and dashing through the barrage. Hardly had the runner arrived wJien a great shell exploded near them, killing the runner and burying them iboth. The private suffered badly from shock, but was able to dig himself j out. Though dazed, he dug out the! runner, found the message on his dead body, and then went on and delivered it.!
