Th< A.V.E-A.'s campaign in this direetior resulted in .€3154 being raised for the equipment of the Children's Hospital and the Hospital Board applied to the Government for the customary Govern ment subsidy made on public donations of the kind. The Board's chairman, Mj M. J. Coylo. has been in eorumunication with the Minister in this matter, and this morning he informed a "Star" representative that the Minister had undertaken to add to the sum raised a subsidy of .€2OOO. Consequently i_'soof is available for the equipment of the Children's Hospital. The Hospital Board has appointed a committee, comprising Messrs. M. J. Coyle. P. J. Ncr heny, E. 11. Potter, of the Board, and Captain Thomas (house manager ol the hospital) and the president of the A.V.E.-A. to report to the Board on the equipment. One of the important matters to be considered is that of the installation of an electric lift. This particularly important appointment had had to he eliminated from the origiial plan of the building', owing to shortage of funds, but now that the Government subsidy of £2000 has been definitely promised, the lift will most likely he supplied. _This. and other important matters of equipment, will ho reported on at tlte next meeting of the Hospital Board.
