ITALY'S ATTACK
ON A SIXTY-MILE PRONT. CLEARING ROAD TO LAT3ACH. (Received 2.30 p.m.)' ROME. May 16. The Italian action on the Julian front, north- of Gon, continues violently. Many fortified positioner and trenches having been captured. — (A. and N.Z.) Great interest is taken in the Italian offensive in the Udine Province. The Italians are advancing on a front of sixty miles from Toljiino to the seaward. The sector from Tolmino to Sarpano is the most difficult front of the war. The Tolmino bridgehead bars the entrance to tbe valley leading to La:bach, 43 miles norm-east of Gorz. — (Renter.)
