The need for eant,een workers in factories and at railway stations (says an English paper) is so great that to 'write to any of the heads of canteens stating one's requisites is to have an immediate response. Hospital requisites depots are equally available. To become a ; V.A.D. the Red Cross course must be passed, but there are plenty of classes to join, notable the L.C.C. classes. Muni- i tion workers must also be trained now, ' and the London County Council has free training classes for these. Six weeks attendance (four hours a Jay) on the part of each applicant is necessary. To ' be a welfare superintendent a woman ■ needs special qualities, tact, experience in dealing (with girls, knowledge of health and hygiene, etc. The National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies,! the London Society of Women's Suffrage. I and the Women's Emergency Corps have ■ all established bureaux for placing workers. The Women's Reserve Ambu" !' lance, 199.
